The best compliment I’ve ever received is being told I’m thoughtful and I never get tired of hearing it.
For me being thoughtful means being empathetic. It means thinking of ways you can make someone’s life a little easier and what you might be able to do to make them feel a little better.
Sometimes thoughtfulness is as simple as saying, “hey, I’m headed to the store. Do you need anything?” Other times, it sounds like, “It really sucks that you’re going through this. Is there anything I can do.” Then, there are times when words fail, and all you can do is sit with someone and be there.
Thoughtfulness and empathy are some of the most important qualities I look for in friends and partners. Luckily for me, I seem to have really good taste in people.
